At the end of 2024, we collaborated with SurrealDB, a pioneer in cutting-edge database solutions for businesses. While SurrealDB’s technology is highly advanced, it comes with a learning curve. To help users grasp the fundamentals, SurrealDB initiated the creation of an online book—a guide to understanding databases.

The outcome was a series of 20 illustrations for Aeon’s Surreal Renaissance, SurrealDB’s online book. The visuals take readers through a post-apocalyptic world where society is rebuilt while rediscovering lost database technology.
